Requirements

A prekindergarten partnership supervisor must be certified under Texas Education Code, and have one of the following additional qualifications:

· An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or a related field.

· A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or another early childhood education credential approved by the agency.

· Certification offered through a training center accredited by Association Montessori International or through the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education.

· A minimum of eight years’ experience of teaching in a nationally accredited childcare program or a Texas Rising Star Program.

 

Skills

· Knowledge of Texas Pre-K and TEA Early Childhood Education Requirements.

· Ability to determine and prioritize demanding workload while being flexible to emergent/unplanned needs and situations.

· Knowledge of, and experience with, group dynamics, facilitation and collaboration.

· Ability to interpret, apply, and audit various policies, procedures, and regulations.

· Ability to exercise tact and discretion in all staff, child and family interactions.

· Ability to handle highly stressful and sensitive situations in a professional manner.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Physical Demands

· Sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time.

· Manipulation of hands, arms, and fingers for pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 lbs regularly throughout the day.

· Ability to get up and down from sitting on the floor or in a chair.

· Balance, stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, running to be physically active at a child's level.

· Ability and willingness to be exposed to weather conditions that are prevalent during outside.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Your Role as a Texas Pre-K Lead Teacher: 

 

We are on the lookout for dedicated professionals like YOU to oversee classroom activities, adhering to standards set by the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education and aligning with the objectives of the current Alabama First Class Pre-K Curriculum. Your role involves creating a nurturing and positive environment for our children and their families, fostering strong bonds and supporting their comprehensive development. You will be responsible for designing and executing learning experiences that encompass a broad range of developmental areas, including physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive skills, and creative expression. Moreover, you'll conduct regular assessments to monitor the children's progress towards School Readiness Goals, tailoring the curriculum to meet the individual needs of each child, including those with disabilities. Upholding health and safety protocols is paramount in your role, ensuring a secure and clean environment by adhering to strict procedures for hygiene, food handling, illness management, and child supervision. Your dedication to these responsibilities will be instrumental in guiding our young learners towards a bright future.
